GMP
shipped me the new 69 Camaro Street Fighter
for my review. It's a fantastic
collector's piece that's produced in limited
numbers which leaves no doubt that it will
sell out just as quickly as the 68 Camaro
Street Fighter did. The box art is
slick and carries the same attitude of the
contents inside. With John McBride's
artwork on the side panel and some cool
shots of the Street Fighter in its element,
the box itself is worthy of being on
display. I feel very fortunate that
GMP chose to include a special thanks to
Lateral-g.net and include our logo on the
box. It's truly an honor to be a part
of a project of this caliber. This is
a hardcore piece and will be collected by
the hardcore enthusiasts.
This car really makes a statement.
It's almost completely blacked out and the red hockey stripes carry the 572
emblem. Some of the details that define this Street Fighter include
a lift-off hood, a carbon fiber chin spoiler, deleted windshield wipers,
18" Billet Specialties wheels, 13" slotted and cross drilled rotors, aluminum
radiator and a serpentine belt setup. The detail on the carb'd 572 BBC is
extremely nice, it's complete down to the spark plug wires and coil. In
case the 572 wasn't enough, GMP outfitted it with spray and the bottle sits
between the seats. The interior is all business with a ten point cage,
custom instrument carrier, high back racing seats, 5 point harnesses and the
console and radio are deleted. Flipping the diecast over, the bottom is
just as detailed as the rest of the model. It has a T56, true dual
exhaust, fuel system plumbing and an actual bent steel brake line on the rear
end housing. The use of staggered shocks show that even the smallest
details weren't overlooked.
The 69 Camaro Street Fighter defines
the current state of the genre g-machine. It's all attitude and built for
a purpose.
